How we celebrate Ugadi @ FBS Business school

Hello Readers It's been a long gap to my new post. I am wishing you a life full of utmost peace and joy. Happy Ugadi!. Today I am going to let you know how we will celebrate Ugadi in our college FBS Business school. Before that I would like to share my views about why we celebrate Ugadi.

Ugadi is a festival of hindus, but it is celebrated by only few states in India i.e., Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Maharashtra. The people of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana call it as Ugadi, Karnataka as Yugadi and Maharashtra as Gudi Padwa. The word Yugadi/Ugadi are derived from sanskrit word Yuga (age) and adi (Beginning) means "The beginning of a new age" i.e., the Indian new year. On this auspicious day the people will make the ugadi pachadi with 6 ingredients which includes 6 tastes - Bitterness, Sweetness, Hot, Saltiness, Sourness, Tang which represents the 6 emotions of our lives i.e.,

  1. Bitterness - Sadness (Neem buds and flowers)
  2. Sweetness - Happiness ( Jaggery and ripe banana)
  3. Hot - Anger ( Green chilli/ Pepper)
  4. Saltiness - Fear ( Salt)
  5. Sourness - Disgust/unpleasant ( Tamarind)
  6. Tang - Surprise ( Unripened mango)
Everyone will celebrate Ugadi at their homes because every education institute will provide holiday on that day, FBS Business school provides the opportunity to organize an event in the institution which helps to improve students management skills practically.

We celebrated Ugadi yesterday i.e., Saturday (17-03-2018) and also conducted food festival where the food was self prepared by the students of MBA 1st Year. We prepared the invitation to invite all the faculty and students of MBA and BBA.

Invitation

We started the event with Puja, later conducted games like Treasure hunt, Polo stick, Housie, Balloon blast, Lemon & spoon e.t.c. We scheduled the event and implemented according to the plan/schedule.

Schedule for the event

We learnt how to manage the time, people and things as well we celebrated the ugadi and enjoyed alot.

We ended the day with lots of experience, lessons and memories. I hope everyone should get the joy and happiness in their lives.
All the Best..........😊
